That's the mission of our church and the mission of our college ministry. By worshiping, studying, serving, and sharing together we bring glory to God--becoming better disciples of Jesus. We believe that discipleship happens best in small environments and so that's how we've designed our college ministry.

To get plugged into the college community here at UCC simply email Ron Brown, our UCC Connections Minister, and we'll get you into a small group filled with other students seeking to glorify God. Our groups live life together, study together, serve out in the community, and share their faith.

If you are looking for an opportunity to learn more about the Bible on a Sunday morning then we can get you plugged into one of the many classes we offer--allowing you to meet the rest of our vibrant church family. For a list of available classes you can, again, email Ron Brown,

Hey Everyone!

I mentioned in an earlier post that we would include a contest to coincide with our new lessons series "Directions." The goal--be the first person to send/get me directions to the location where the picture was taken. The prize--a free UCC t-shirt and you get a free meal at the restaurant of your choosing. This is the second chance to win in our contest (I didn't put up the first one since everyone in the college class on Sunday morning nailed it right away.)

October 5th holds a special place in all of hearts here at UCC--it's Ryan's Birthday! Our staff decided to celebrate this momentous occasion by dressing in mourning. Here's some fun pics from this morning. (Sorry for the blurriness, some of these were action shots).

Sunday Serving!

Hey Everyone! If you've missed out on the last couple college class sessions then you might be out of the loop--we're serving this coming Sunday instead of having a class. We'll meet in front of the UCC office building and head over to Meadowlark retirement home to help with their worship and have conversations with the people there.

What you need to know:

Where are we meeting?
--In front of the UCC offices (the building where we normally meet for class Sunday morning) You'll see a church van out front.

When do we meet?
--Great question! We need to meet just a little earlier than normal. Try to meet us by 9:30. I know it's a little earlier than normal, but it will be well worth getting up a little earlier!

What will we be doing?
--Singing a couple hymns with them and/or talking and hanging out with them

Will we be back in time for the 11:15 service?
--Most definitely. At 10:45 we'll load back into the church van and head back for UCC giving us plenty of time to make it back.

New Series Coming Up...

Hey Everyone! We're wrapping up our series "Dirty Jobs" and are looking forward to moving into "Directions." Starting October 4th we'll spend 5 weeks taking a look at what the Bible has to say about where we're going in life: work, dating, money, conflict, and what happens when we "trip and fall." Along with the new series we'll have a weekly contest going on. Each week I'll post a different picture taken here in manhattan on the website (and in the sunday school class.) If you can replicate the picture with your cell phone and print off directions from the church to that location then I'll take you out to lunch and you'll get a free t-shirt (assuming you're the first one to show me & get it right). 5 weeks, 5 pictures, 5 chances to win, 5 great opportunities to hear about how God's word applies to our lives.

In case you're wondering--the college class is up and running! We're in the upper room and meet at 10:15 Sunday morning. Come join us for coffee, discussion, and life applicable lessons.

Construction Complete!

The "Upper Room" is finally ready! We've got chairs, tables, TV, mini fridge... let's see, all we need now is... You! So that was a little lame... but check it out, here's how the room looks.

We'll be starting in our series called "Dirty Jobs." Looking through scripture at the reasons why Christ served--and why He calls us to serve. It's going to be a lot of fun and I'm excited to get started. Remember: we start at 10:15, come park in the lot in front of our offices (next to the old Taco Hut), and we'll finish up in time to walk over to the 11:15 contemporary service.

K-State Move-In!

So what do all these cars and people have in common?

Do they all love Storm's charming personality and bright smile?

Yup :) And they all love that Storm and a ton of UCC volunteers came to help them move!

And of course, the rewards and devastation of lunch!

Thanks to everyone involved this year! We helped moved a ton of boxes, got to know each other better, and made an impact in the lives of students. I'm compiling a final list of names of everyone who help out--so for right now all I can say is this. THANK YOU!

A Quick Reminder

Hey Everyone! Just a reminder that our college sunday school class is starting up in a little over a week (August 30th). It's located in the upper room--above our church office--across the street from the church. We'll be meeting at 10:15 and finish up with plenty of time to walk across the street and make it to the 11:15 service. In case there's any confusion about how to get there I've made this quick video to help guide you.

I want to encourage you to park by the office building. We can walk over together after class gets out and that way open up more parking spaces in the church parking lots for visitors.

Under Construction...

Summer is ending and we're gearing up for the Fall! With the growth of our Sunday school, youth, and children's ministries we're having to shuffle the deck a little and move the college room across the street, above our church offices (2803 Claflin, across from the church). It's still in the construction phase, but will be ready by August 30th--in time for our first class of the new semester. Here's some pictures of what's happened so far:
